Every flock of geese has one ''leader''. How do they determine which one holds this position?
If you mean tne goose wo is at the head of the vee flight formation it is not just one bird. The lead position is the most tiring and so different birds assume that position.
The leader is the one who is strongest and can fly at the point of the v formation, breaking the wind resistance for the geese who are less strong.
THEY FIGHT!
just me has it
They actually take turns among the bigger guys. It is harder to be the point man than to wing along in his wake, believe it or not.
in a flock of geese, they take turns on who leads when flying. There is not one true leader. The one up front will fly until it gets tired, then drop back and a different one will then take the lead. The ones in the back are sort of like drafting like a race car would do in a car race.
